Hello Kitty Sweetheart Playmate vs Pompompurin's Bakery

Quick answer

Choose the Moetch Hello Kitty Sweetheart Playmate Series if you want a chance at a secret design and a slightly lower single-box price. Choose the Re-Ment Pompompurin's Bakery Blind Box Series if you prefer a guaranteed eight-design lineup with no secret chase and a lower full-set cost per box.

Lineup size and the secret-design factor

The Moetch Hello Kitty Sweetheart Playmate Series has eight standard designs plus a secret possibility: a full set gives you either all eight designs or seven designs plus one secret. That means the full-set composition can vary, and you cannot request the secret specifically. The Re-Ment Pompompurin's Bakery Blind Box Series has eight designs and no secret mentioned in the catalog, so a full set delivers eight non-repeating designs with a predictable lineup.

If completing a fixed set matters to you, the Pompompurin Bakery is the safer choice. If the thrill of a possible secret is part of the appeal, the Hello Kitty Sweetheart Playmate offers that extra layer.

Price per box and full-set discount

At catalog prices, the Hello Kitty Sweetheart Playmate single box is USD 9.61 (compared to USD 12.99), while the Pompompurin's Bakery single box is USD 9.14 (compared to USD 14.99). Both series offer a 10% discount on full-set purchases. The Pompompurin box is slightly cheaper per single, but the Hello Kitty box has a higher comparison price, which may matter if you value perceived savings.

For full-set buyers, the 10% discount applies to both, so the total outlay depends on the single-box price. The Pompompurin set will cost less overall at current catalog prices, but the Hello Kitty set includes the chance of a secret design.

Design appeal and display style

The Hello Kitty Sweetheart Playmate Series leans toward a sweet, playful theme with Hello Kitty as the focus. The Pompompurin's Bakery Series is bakery-themed, which suits collectors who like food-themed minis and warm, cozy displays. Neither series specifies figure size or material in the catalog, so if scale or finish is critical, check the product pages or ask before buying.

Both are blind-boxed, meaning you cannot choose the design in a single box. That uncertainty is part of the format, but it affects how you plan a display: a full set gives you the complete lineup, while single boxes are a surprise.

Key trade-offs to weigh

• Secret chance vs guaranteed lineup: The Hello Kitty Sweetheart Playmate full set may include a secret design instead of one standard design, while the Pompompurin's Bakery full set always contains the eight standard designs. If you dislike variant lineups, pick Pompompurin's Bakery.
• Single-box price vs comparison price: The Pompompurin's Bakery single box is USD 9.14 (compared to USD 14.99), and the Hello Kitty Sweetheart Playmate single box is USD 9.61 (compared to USD 12.99). The Pompompurin box is cheaper per single, but the Hello Kitty box shows a larger discount from its comparison price.
• Full-set discount parity: Both series offer a 10% discount on full sets, so the total full-set cost is driven by the single-box price. Full-set buyers should compare the final cart total, not just the discount percentage.

Product facts at a glance

• Moetch Hello Kitty Sweetheart Playmate Series: Blind box with 8 designs; a full set yields all 8 designs or 7 designs plus 1 secret, with a 10% discount. You get a complete set either way, but the secret replaces one standard design, so the final lineup can differ from the standard eight.

• Re-Ment Pompompurin's Bakery Blind Box Series: Blind box with 8 designs; a full set yields 8 non-repeating designs, with a 10% discount. A full set guarantees the entire standard lineup with no secret substitution, making it easier to complete a fixed collection.
